After partition of India in 1947, when Pakistan emerged as another country in division, half part of Punjab had gone to Pakistan and rest part remained in India. Lahore, the capital city of erstwhile Punjab had gone to Pakistan's Punjab so Indian Punjab required a new city as capital city of Punjab. Initially, Shimla remained as capital of Punjab but later, then Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru envisaged planning a new city for capital city of Punjab which drafted a master plan of the city. The responsibility to execute this dream was given Le Corbusier, a French architect and his team. Chandigarh is the first city in the country which is planned first on a paper and then developed on land. The name of this city has been derived from Goddess Chandi, whose temple is near to Chandigarh. Goddess Chandi is the incarnation of Goddess Parvati to eliminate devils. So, Chandigarh is place of Goddess Chandi.
City is well planned in various residential and commercial sectors and belts. City has separate industrial areas and IT park as well. Chandigarh sectors starts from sector 1 and goes up to sector 63. Sector 17 is totally commercial hence no residential houses are there and sector 12 and 14 are covered in PGI, Punjab University and other institutes. Sector 34 is partially commercial and outer belts of some sectors like sector 22, 35, 7, 8, 9, 26 and Mani Majra are commercial. Chandigarh is known to have world class facility to it's residents. City provides uninterrupted water and electricity supply to residential and commercial areas. It's a well maintained city with clean roads and well maintained public places. Each sector has a green belt and all major roads in the city are covered with shady trees along. We guess these words might not be describing what we intend to say, so visit here and see yourself.
Located at the foothills of Shivalik ranges which are visible from the city. Approximate area of the city is 144 KM2. Chandigarh share it's borders with Punjab and Haryana states and Himachal Pradesh boundary is also few kilometers from northern border of the city. In peak summer, temperature remains between 30 - 45 °C, so light cotton clothes are recommended during April to September. In winters, temperature remains between 20 °C - 0 °C, so woolen are recommended if you visit city between November to January. Rest of the year, weather remains pleasant due to proximity with Himachal hills and greenery around the city. Average rainfall in the city is good and July - August are usually rainy months.
City has a long list of operational and upcoming malls for the entertainment lovers. Fun Cinemas, Centra Mall, City Emporium Mall, Shalimar Mall, DLF City Center, Elente Mall, North Country Mall, Paras Downtown Square are some existing malls offering shopping and entertainment for the visitors. There are various upcoming malls like TDI, Mohali Junction, Treasure Island which are expected to be operational soon.

It's a half day tour which starts from Hotel Shivalikview, Sector-17, Chandigarh covers Zakir Rose Garden (Sector-16), Museum & Art Gallery (Sector-10),War Memorial & Bougainvillea Garden (Sector-03), Rock Garden (Sector-1) and Sukhana Lake. A special itinerary is available for group of more than twenty people.
Get blessed with blessings of Mata Mansa Devi at Mansa Devi temple at Panchkula. Another religious places are Shiv temple at Saketri, Nada Sahib Gurdwara at outskirts of Panchkula and Amb Sahib Gurdwara at Mohali.
