The Government Museum and Art Gallery is located in Sector 10 in Chandigarh and its building is designed by Le Corbusier. This museum is divided into four wings namely art, architecture, portraits and natural history. The main attractions of this museum are the Rajasthani miniature paintings that count over 4000 and over 600 Buddhist sculptures from the Gandhara region. It also houses the rare plans and manuscript, sketches of the city.
It displays the evolution of Chandigarh from the inception of life to the era of Dinosaurs to the present day Chandigarh.
