Description

The famous fables has it that when the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh visited this village situated 10km from Chandigarh at the Zirakpur-Kalka region in Punjab, this region was badly suffering from a severe draught and epidemic.

It is said that when the people of this area asked him to quench their thirst, the Guru shot  an arrow on the ground and a well(Baoli) shot out from nowhere on the ground  and the people thus quenched their thirst.

So, inculcating the historic incident that took place here, a Gurudwara was constructed thereby representing the glory and the power of the Guru, justifying the name Gurudwara Baoli Sahib.
